Act now to encourage your legislators to support charter schools

The state’s Appropriations Committee passed a budget that ignores commitments made by the State Board of Education and the needs of our families. The proposed budget prevents schools from expanding to serve more students, despite long waiting lists and pre-existing commitments. They also removed all funding for approved charter schools in Bridgeport and Stamford.

State leaders will take the Appropriations budget and make changes before voting on a final version later this spring

We must do everything possible to ensure students in charter schools, and the thousands of Connecticut children waiting to attend charter schools, are treated fairly. That’s why we're asking you to urge elected leaders to follow through on the commitments they’ve made to charter schools and children across the state.

The fight to attain funding that meets our schools’ needs is far from over. Our legislators need to hear our collective voices and sense our urgency at this critical moment in the budget process. Please click the link below to show your support in the charter school movement.
