NBFA 20th Anniversary Gala
New Beginnings Family Academy (NBFA) celebrated its past, present and future at the 20th Anniversary Gala on April 20. Held at The Inn at Longshore in Westport, Connecticut, the event brought NBFA families, staff, donors, funders and partners together to celebrate the positive impact NBFA has made on the lives of Bridgeport students for over two decades.
Upon arrival, guests were greeted with a variety of interactive NBFA pop-up stations that allowed them to experience some of the many dynamic activities at the school, including Cozy Corners and Experience-Based Learning.
The evening began with a special toast by NBFA CEO & Director Ronelle Swagerty and a brief introduction video on the school. Longtime partners Tauck Family Foundation, Swagerty and NBFA Founder Jonathan Dawson were awarded in recognition of their longtime vision and devotion to NBFA. NBFA also posthumously recognized Richard Bentley, Dorothy Larson, Gilbert Larson and Richard Whitcomb for their partnership and support of NBFA.
Following an exciting live auction, guests were treated to a special performance by Grammy, Emmy, and Tony® Award nominee Vanessa Williams.
