Welcome to New Beginnings Family Academy! I support students, families, and fellow staff members here at NBFA. No day is the same for me! I support student's social, emotional, and behavioral needs through individual and group counseling sessions and classroom lessons. If you or your child is experiencing any type of difficulty or hardship, please reach out to me so we can partner together! I will always make myself available to meet with you or your child. In addition to our school resources, I can refer you to community resources for additional support. It is my number one priority to ensure that your child feels safe, happy, and excited to learn each and every day! I am so grateful to be part of the NBFA family. Each and every team member puts their hearts into loving the students and views education and teaching as a lifestyle not just a job.
About Ms. Barker
I reside in Watertown with my four children and dogs Hannah and Buddy! When I'm not spending quality time with my children and the love of my life, I enjoy trips to the beach, cooking, gardening, and biking. I've always enjoyed working with kids. I began my career working with kids who were in trouble with the law. I later decided I wanted to combine my love for children and my passion for education and began working in schools. I felt like I could make the greatest difference in the lives of children in a school setting. This is my 6th year as an school counselor and I am currently pursuing my degree in educational leadership from Quinnipiac University. Having the opportunity to be part of the student's academic and social emotional growth is the most rewarding feeling!
